Compass and Prop Flight Training (“we,” “us”) operates this website at https://compassandprop.com. We’re an independent flight training and aircraft rental operation based at Brennand Airport (79C) in Neenah, Wisconsin. This policy explains what information this website collects and how we use it.
Information you give us
The forms on this site — the contact form, the newsletter signup, and the aerial photography booking form — ask for information such as your name, email address, phone number, preferred contact method, and your message. We use this information to respond to your inquiry and for no other purpose, unless you also choose to subscribe to our newsletter or to receive text messages.
Form submissions are delivered to us by email through Resend, our email service provider. When you submit a form, you’ll also receive a confirmation email at the address you provided.
Text messages (SMS)
We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information is shared with third parties for their own marketing under any circumstances.
What we collect and how we use it
When you check the box agreeing to receive text messages on one of our forms, we collect your mobile phone number and a record of your consent — that you agreed, and on which form. We use both for one purpose only: to text you about your flight training. We do not use your number for advertising, and we do not add it to any list we did not tell you about.
What we send
Messages come from (920) 383-3433 and cover lesson scheduling and changes, instructor and aircraft availability, weather cancellations, invoice and account notices, aerial photography session scheduling, and replies to questions you’ve asked us.
Message frequency varies — it depends on how often you’re flying and what you ask us. Message and data rates may apply.
Stopping the messages
Reply STOP to any message to opt out; we’ll send one confirmation and nothing after that. Reply HELP for help, or contact [email protected] or (920) 358-0581 and we’ll take you off the list.
Checking the consent box is always optional. It is never a condition of contacting us, booking a discovery flight, renting an aircraft, or training with us.
Service providers
Text messages are sent through Twilio, our messaging provider, which processes them on our behalf. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter — through the signup form or by checking the subscribe box on the contact form — we store your name and email address with Resend so we can send you our roughly monthly email. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us at [email protected] and we’ll remove you.
We never sell or share our mailing list.
Analytics and advertising
We use three services to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are read, which links are clicked, and how people find us:
- Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google). You can learn how Google uses data at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- PostHog, which collects page views and clicks and may record anonymized browsing sessions to help us improve the site. Text you type into forms is masked and not included in these recordings. PostHog’s privacy policy is at https://posthog.com/privacy.
- The Meta Pixel (provided by Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram), which tells us when a visit came from one of our ads and lets us show follow-up ads to people who have visited the site. If you are logged into Facebook or Instagram, Meta may be able to connect that visit to your account. You can review and change what Meta collects in your Facebook Ad Preferences, and Meta’s privacy policy is at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy.
All three use cookies or similar browser storage. We do not link analytics data to what you submit through our forms, and we never sell any of it. You can limit or block these cookies through your browser settings or extensions without affecting your ability to use the site.
Booking and external services
Some links on this site take you to services run by other companies — for example, discovery flight scheduling through Flight Schedule Pro and book purchases through Amazon. Once you leave our site, those companies’ own privacy policies apply.
Hosting
This site is hosted on Amazon Web Services and served through Cloudflare. Like nearly all web infrastructure, these providers keep standard server logs that include IP addresses, which we use only for security and troubleshooting.
How long we keep information
We keep contact form emails as ordinary business correspondence for as long as they’re useful to us. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to the default retention settings of Google Analytics and PostHog.
Children
This website is directed at adults — student pilots, renters, and parents researching flight training for their kids. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our forms, email us and we’ll delete it.
Your choices
If you’d like to know what information we have about you, or want it corrected or deleted, email [email protected] or call (920) 358-0581. We’re an independent operation — you’ll be talking to a person, and we’ll take care of it promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this site handles information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
